ABOUT

Yossi Veissid is an architect, artist and art curator based in Lyon, France. He is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
His artistic work combines architectural, cultural and social insights, and examines liminal urban situations and scenes of destruction.
Working primarily in ink on paper, his visual language attempts to identify order in chaos.
"My journey is driven by a combination of anxiety and despair along with great curiosity and desire to explore values of beauty and harmony. Spiritual landscapes extend through the living spaces between times, in places where nature has been denied and tries to recreate itself through artificial images of scenery. I draw situations of building and renewal based on the materials of destruction and devastation. I act mostly intuitively, drawing what I see and feel, connecting memories, passions and possible remnants of ancient knowledge."
